Common Misconceptions
Before
you buy your new hockey gloves, there are a few things that you should
be aware of. First, you don't want a tight fitting glove. Some players
believe that the glove should be a snug fit for good performance.
WRONG! You'll need a slightly loose glove for freedom of movement
and maximum comfort. |

|
Another thing you may have seen is players with
smaller, tighter, padded gloves. These types of gloves may seem
less bulky, but they have limited protection for a reason. Hockey
gloves are designed to offer protection to the hand and wrist during
play. Any glove without good padding over the hand and cuff isn't
doing the job it was designed for. Look for good protection, a durable
palm, and a loose fitting glove for great performance while playing.

Sizing
Hockey Gloves
|
 |
The
two most important factors in sizing a hockey glove are a slightly
loose fit around the hand and fingers, and good protection over the
hand and up to the elbow pad. Hockey gloves are sized according to
the distance between the tip of your finger and the bottom of your
elbow pad. In inches, measure this distance to select the correct
size glove. If you are not able to measure this for any reason, use
the chart below for a recommended size based on your height. |
